Recommendation as submitted by Supervisor Solis and Mitchell: Instruct the Director of Public Health, in partnership with

• Directors of Health Services
• Children and Family Services
• Acting Director of Mental Health
• Alliance for Health Integration
• Medical Examiner-Coroner
• Alternatives to Incarceration Initiative
• Interim Executive Directors of the Los Angeles County Homeless Services Authority
• Executive Director of the Homeless Initiative
• Superintendent of Schools of the Los Angeles County Office of Education
• Chief Executive Officer
• Other applicable entities, and community stakeholders

to report back to the Board in writing within 120 days and biannually thereafter with an updated plan of action to address the growing crisis of overdose deaths related to methamphetamine, fentanyl, opioids and other substances, with considerations in this plan to include, but not to be limited to, the following:

• Build on current planning processes and strategies established by....
• Ensure strategies to address the drug overdose epidemic among populations disproportionately impacted by overdoses, 
• Work with the housing system to expand the housing continuum and availability of recovery-oriented permanent, interim, and emergency housing options throughout the County
• Provide recommendations to expand and promote access to navigation services for people with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs)
• and 9 additional action items. 

No mention of a task force or scheduled plan to support law enforcement or address the abuse of those who write prescriptions.
