About the Hanson Dam Aquatic Center:
The center is a 40-acre water recreation facility  located on the northwest side of the Hansen  Dam Recreation Area in Lake View Terrace,  California (approximately 25 miles north of  downtown Los Angeles).

• Nine-acre recreation lake
  • Filled with circulated tap water 
  • Offers fishing and public boating.
  • Open year-round (including holidays), but is subject to closure during severe weather and/or planned events.
• 1.5-acre swimming lake. "RITCHIE VALENS POOL" named after musician Ritchie Valenzuela (Valens)
  • The swim lake water is filtered and chlorinated
  • Capacity of 3,000 swimmers.
• 50 public restrooms
• 20  dressing rooms
• 25 showers
• Several picnic areas.  
• Activities available  include boating, fishing, jogging, picnicking, and  walking. 
• The swim lake enclosure offers three acres of recreational  space for picnicking and other forms of  recreation, as well two large water slides and  sand volleyball courts
