According to the Ventura County Sheriff:
On December 14, 2025, two security cameras valued at more than $1,500 were reported stolen from St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo.
Video footage from one of the stolen cameras captured a suspect wearing a hooded jacket, concealing their identity. The following day, investigators learned that one of the stolen cameras had unexpectedly come online. Detectives with the Camarillo Investigations Unit identified the residence where the stolen camera had been mounted on the exterior of the home. A search warrant was obtained and later served. During the search, detectives recovered both stolen security cameras.
Tristin James Yanez (20) was identified as the suspect in the theft, and he was arrested for felony grand theft and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail. A booking photo was not released.
