Santa Ynez Opens Heritage & Cultural Park to Private Events!

In addition to diverse new offerings, we are also opening the Heritage House and Cultural Park to private events! If 2026 is bringing you a special occasion for celebration, please reach out to our events team at rentals@chumash.gov to learn more about our private event guidelines.

The 14,000-square-foot Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center, within 6.9 acres of land, opened in May 2025. The facility is across the street from the Chumash Casino Resort. 

The Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center are receiving attention in various publications including: 

• UK's Wanderlust Travel Magazine’s 2026 Good to Go List for the United States 
• Santa Barbara-based Noozhawk’s “5 Things to Do in the Santa Ynez Valley” 
• Named Best Art Gallery in Santa Ynez Valley News’ annual Best of the Valley awards, which was published on December 31. What an incredible way to ring in the new year!

The temporary exhibit, We Are Samala: A Celebration of Our Ancestral Homelands, soon will be retired, and a new exhibit will be introduced for you to explore.  

Discover the Chumash Legacy

is a permanent exhibit which offers an immersive journey into the deep-rooted history and culture of the Chumash people. Through cultural objects, stories, and interactive displays, visitors can explore the spiritual beliefs, daily life, and enduring traditions of our Chumash community.

Open Thursday-Sunday, 10am-5pm (last tickets sold at 4:00pm)
