Key Dates Before End of Session
August 14 - Last day for fiscal committees to meet and report bills to the floor
August 17 through 31 – Floor Session only, committees are not allowed to meet without with out special circumstances.
August 21 - Final amendment date.
August 31 - Last day for each house to pass bills. Final recess begins upon adjournment.
The process for legislation - with or without the Governor's signature.
Sept 1, 2026
Constitutional deadline for the Governor to act on any bill passed before September 1 that remains in their possession.
Any bill not explicitly signed or vetoed by midnight on this date automatically becomes law without a signature.
