While most of the San Fernando Valley slept, during the last morning of a three-day weekend; 43 firefighters extinguished a fire in Old Canoga Park in 33 minutes with no injuries reported, shortly after two in the morning
Quick and thorough work by the skilled members of Fire Station 72 Battalion 17 prevented the fire from spreading beyond the dumpsters and carport. The one story main structure remained intact. The commercial building is north of Sherman Way at 7127 Owensmouth. Being an odd numbered address the building is therefore on the west side of the street.
Arson investigators will determine the cause and a report will follow.
