American Indian Arts Festival | Autry Museum of the American West

Interactive Experiences: Create, Connect, Imagine

  • Star Wars meets Indigenous Design: Interact with HOPI R2, a collaborative creation by Hopi artist Duane Koyawena and engineer Joe Mastroianni, and join us for a conversation about the intersection of Indigenous aesthetics and modern technology.
  • Indigenous Printmaking Lab: Create your own take-home linoleum block print featuring designs by River Tikwi Garza (Tongva).
  • Poetry in the Galleries: Experience spoken word performances curated by filmmaker Pamela J. Peters (Diné).
  • Living Traditions Dance Showcase: Witness traditional and contemporary hoop dance and powwow performances with the Wild Horse Singers and Dancers and Terry Goedel and Family.
  • Future Generations Zone: Discover Indigenous stories, games, and hands-on activities designed for young families.

Admission includes entry to the museum's renowned exhibitions of Indigenous art and perspectives, including Future Imaginaries: Indigenous Art, Fashion, Technology; ReVOlt 1680/2180: Sirens & Sikas; and Human Nature, an exhibition exploring how traditional ecological knowledge can help current residents understand and care for our California environment.
