- Union attempted to block the L.A. Times from publishing details from the audio, saying they were obtained illegally.
- The L.A. Times refused to halt publication of the meeting details.

- LAPD MCD* opens an investigation
- Based upon a request by individuals at the meeting (more than one person!!!)
- Kevin de Leon has denied requesting an investigation
- LAPD MCD won't take action against the person who posted the recording on Reddit UNLESS they made the recordings
- The person who posted on REDDIT could invoke the shield law to avoid disclosing who recorded the meeting (the source).
