L.A. Dept. of Building & Safety statistics show a 15% increase in permits, with a $8.4 BILLION projection! Three of five major project Q322 permits were in the San Fernando Valley.

The San Fernando Valley has no permits granted from 7/1/22 to 9/30/22 for affordable/supportive housing projects.  Department of Building and Safety October 2022 Newsletter (constantcontact.com)


Three of the top five projects granted a permit for construction in Q322 are in the SFV:

1) 4827 N. Sepulveda Blvd. with a $104.6M new construction valuation for : 

Proposed 7-story, mixed-use building. It will have 325 apartment units and 40,000 square feet of retail space and parking. The "Via Avanti" project architect is KFA. It is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2024. Sherman Oaks Apartments | Residential | Via Avanti 

2) 21010 W. Erwin St. with a $85.4M new construction valuation for:

Proposed 7-story, mixed-use building at Desoto Avenue & Erwin Street.  It will have 367 apartment units.   The contractor is California Home Builders while Mountain View Condos is listed as the owner. Also, at the same address as CHB & MVC in Canoga Park on Roscoe is Wilcox & Wilcox an Underground Utilities Contractor.  

3) 6815 Canoga Ave. with a $85.4M new construction valuation for:

Proposed 6-story, mixed-use apartment building with 154 units at Canoga Avenue & Vanowen Street.  The 1.3 acre property is adjacent to 6819 Canoga, previously Sierra's & Mission Burrito restaurants which closed down 10 years ago.
