MegaMillion Cash Value Decreases to 46% from 78%

The Megamillion cash payout was 67% in January 2020 while in January 2024 it was 49.6%. Meanwhile, the length of time passing before payouts are given continues to grow.

Statistics from the CA Lottery website and USAMEGA.com indicate the cash value of a Mega Million lottery winning has dramatically decreased in the past ten years:
