Numerous blog writers are pushing readers towards thrift stores, FB marketplace, garage sales, and estate sales in the event predictions of shortages, due to tariffs, if they manifest.

An estate sale provides:

  • Clothes to repurpose or wear as originally intended
  • Kitchen utensils sometimes barely used - but always affordable
  • Dinnerware - affordable and often of designs and patterns long out of production
  • MANY items made in USA - long before the offshore production domination we see now
  • Furniture - again often made in USA
  • Tools & garden equipment - affordable and often by manufacturers produced in USA
  • Designer statuary, knick-knacks, artwork, and more!!!  All affordable!

Two online sites list schedules for local estate sales: EstateSales.net and EstateSales.org.

While Grayson's touts itself as one of the oldest companies dispersing the contents of a home via an estate sale; Everything But The House has a more recognizable presence online.  They were in Southern California for over two years, Oct 2016-Sept 2018, but now the sales are warehoused and conducted thru the Ohio corporate headquarters.

A recognizable figure in the local estate sale scene is "TallRob".  Recently he began posting about a significant sale.  An event that is so large he had to postpone it for a week, in order to accomplish everything needed to present the contents of the house.  A video on tiktok (with a shorter version on Instagram) reveals he and his crew have worked on the house for a week!
