A middle-aged gentleman was hit in the intersection of Devonshire & Topanga by a motor vehicle.
Emergency vehicles attending him include: LAFD Engine 296 and the Paramedia/Rescue Ambulance #96. Both emergency vehicles were from Los Angeles Fire Dept. Station 96 at 21800 Marilla St, Chatsworth, CA 91311
No details are available if the driver stopped.
Much of the Los Angeles 9000+ Police Department staff were dispatched to protests in Van Nuys and Woodland Hills, as well as downtown Los Angeles where 30,000 protestors were ordered to disperse prior to the curfew.
Agitators began to cause troubles mid-afternoon in Los Angeles when the police were assaulted. The crowd was dispersed, this afternoon, by authority of the police and they moved into a couple of separate assemblies. 10 officers were hurt over the past week, including rocks to the head for which they were treated onsite by paramedics.
An interview of Mayor Karen Bass, at 9pm by reporters at KCAL, addressed the turn in the protests today in Los Angeles this afternoon revealed the incidents needed to be reviewed in order to determine if LAPD or the crowd initiated the incidents.
The LAPD Chief said the curfew has been effective in dispersing the crowd. He also distinguished that the Federal law enforcement has a different assignment and therefore they have not been working together as their focus is on Federal property and employees.
Victory and Van Nuys had approximately 250 protestors but problems occurred when some began to descend on the motor units - the Valley LAPD called in for reinforcement from Los Angeles.
No report of drama or problems occurred in Woodland Hills.
LAPD Chief McDonnell distinguished between the peaceful protestors and the roving troublemakers, including out-of-state agitators who are responsible for much of the graffiti.
