1992 - The first time a team outside the USA won the world series.  The Toronto Blue Jays won 4:2 against the Atlanta Braves. Unlike 2025, the first two games were played in Atlanta.

1992 - First time an arena with a moveable, retractable, roof was the site of a World Series game

1993 - The second time a team outside the USA won the world series. The Toronto Blue Jays won 4:2 against the Philadelphia Phillies

1994 - First time the game was cancelled, due to a players' strike

The Los Angeles Dodgers (established in Los Angeles in 1932) have won the world series eight times but never back-to-back, unless they win in 2025.

There have been 10 instances where teams  won back-to-back games but the Oakland Athletics won three games in a row (1972-1974).  However, a more stunning record has been attained by the New York Yankees (American League). They have won three, four, and five games in a row! (1936-1939 and 1949 - 1953 and 1998-199).
