2025 National Adoption Day is November 22nd

According to the National Adoption Day website a coalition of four national partners launched the day for awareness and celebration in 1999. The annual celebration is on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, which in 2025 falls on November 22.

"During this annual event, courts and organizations in more than 400 communities across the country have opened their doors on or around the Saturday before Thanksgiving to finalize and celebrate adoptions from foster care."

California National Adoption Day participants does not yet include Los Angeles County or City although they participated in 2024 More than 200 children find forever homes in Los Angeles County’s National Adoption Day

Conversely March 29-30 of 2025 National Adoption Weekend | LA Animal Services was celebrated.
