The initial meeting of the newly established Select Committee on Housing Construction Innovation is scheduled for January 6 - 1:30 p.m in the State Capitol, Room 126, after the California Legislators return from recess. According to a December 4th press release from Assemblyman Wicks the "Select Committee on Housing Construction Innovation, a body tasked with exploring and advancing modern, cost-efficient, climate-smart approaches to building new homes in California."

The Select Committee will hold two to three public hearings during winter 2025–2026 to evaluate:
Committee members will also have the opportunity to tour housing construction innovation facilities — such as modular factories, industrialized construction sites, and 3D-printing demonstration projects — to see firsthand how these approaches work in practice.
The San Fernando Valley is not represented by any member of the committee, the closest would be Asm. Juan Carrillo (D-Palmdale).
The press announcement provided a link to a "public website with hearing dates, agendas, materials, and resources." There are only two dates and no details for offsite/online access
