In light of current global events, the Department remains at an elevated level of readiness and is maintaining increased vigilance as we continue to protect our residents of Los Angeles County. We are working closely with our federal and local law enforcement partners to share intelligence and monitor the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and assess any potential impacts in our communities.
The safety of the public remains our highest priority. As part of our preparedness efforts, we remain attentive to all potential threats, including lone-actor attacks, sleeper cells, and advanced technological or cyber-related threats.
Out of an abundance of caution, and in recognition of current religious observances, the Department has continued increased patrols around places of worship, cultural institutions, and other prominent locations throughout the County. We have proactively reviewed our deployment plans, enhanced coordination with our patrol stations, and ensured that additional resources are available should they be needed. Additionally, the Department has cultural liaisons who work directly with community members to address concerns and foster engagement.
We also recognize that some of the most valuable intelligence comes from the public.
Our residents are the eyes and ears of our communities, and we encourage everyone to remain aware of their surroundings, including online and in digital spaces.
Suspicious activity should always be reported to law enforcement.
