The striped bags were released June 17th and as expected received much attention and sold out quickly. Now we are seeing them on Etsy and other aftermarket sites.

- Heavy-duty blend of cotton and polyester
- Pocket on each side.
Less than two-weeks after they were released vendors on Ebay began offering them. Currently a search for Trader Joes + Stripe + Canvas (Within categories of New + Reusable Shopping Bags) results in over 3900 options!
- An eager but naive vendor listed a bag at $50k
- 41 people listed between $1,000 and $9,999
- 7 people listed between $10,000 and $40,000
- One person listed their tote at .99 starting bid with $5.89 in shipping charges
- Numerous people listed at $1.99 starting bid but recouped costs with $8.30 in shipping charges.
So clearly the re-sellers, flippers, market for TJ bags will not pay the rent or even buy any goodies from Trader Joes.
But those who upgrade the bag may have a better chance of realizing a profit:
