WelbeHealth Hosts Community Open House in Celebration of its One Year Anniversary Of Meeting the Needs of the Valley’s Most Vulnerable Seniors
One of CA’s leading providers through the Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), WelbeHealth empowers low-income seniors to age at home and thrive in their communities
Qualifying seniors access all WelbeHealth services a little to NO cost
WelbeHealth, one of California’s leading health providers for low-income older adults through the Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), invited seniors in the community to its open house event today celebrating the one-year anniversary of expanding affordable community-based health services in the underserved metro areas of North Hollywood. Seniors and their families had an opportunity to learn about the comprehensive services available to help seniors age comfortably at home instead of a nursing home.
Attendees met the WelbeHealth team and connected with other seniors in the community, taking a tour of the facility. Additionally, there was raffle prizes, Medi-Cal application assistance, blood pressure screening, housing education and other valuable resources available. The center also featured spaces for recreational and social activities and common areas with beautiful decor, along with traditional medical settings like spaces for primary and dental care, physical therapy and a cafeteria. To celebrate the occasion, a complimentary breakfast was provided.
California has the highest number of adults ages 65 and older in the country, and amid one of the nation’s highest rates of senior poverty, PACE organizations like WelbeHealth play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and affordable programs for older adults with complex health needs who want to age at home in their communities at little or no cost to them and alleviating from large healthcare bills and concerns.
A brief program featured speakers Dr. Danielle Basurco, MD, Associate Medical Director for WelbeHealth and Rosa Pathi; Alfred Pathi and Gregory Herdman a Veteran and all older adult participants enrolled in WelbeHealth programs also spoke about their experience receiving care through PACE instead of a nursing home.
