We start right across the street from the Pantages Theater, on Hollywood Blvd, outside the street level exit of the Hollywood/Vine Metro Station. We will take two stops along the way:

1) Gelson's Market - snacks/restrooms, at 4.5 miles.

2) Barnsdall Art Park - restroom/water, at just over 6 miles (if needed)

Description:

This 15.8 mile point to point stair-walk visits 6 reservoirs:

1) Hollywood

2) Rowena

3) Ivanhoe

4) Silver Lake

5) Echo Park Lake

6) MacArthur Park Lake

And 32 total, stair-streets and stairways, and is divided into two parts with a lunch break in between:

Part 1, 9 miles/16 stairways, starts at the Hollywood/Vine Metro station, visits the Hollywood reservoir, the Beachwood stairs, Barnsdall Art Park and the Franklin Hills, including the Rowena Reservoir, and the 295 step Prospect Stairway-set, and concludes at the Tomato Pie Pizza Joint

Part 2, 6.8 miles/16 stairways, starts/continues at Tomato Pie, and traverses the remaining 4 reservoirs and a number of less challenging stairways than part 1, and visits the newly repoened Vista Theatre, and 5 studios from the Edendale area, one of which has been in continuous operation since 1912! Part 2 ends at MacArthur Park Lake, right across the street from the Westlake/MacArthur Park Metro station, which you can use to take the Metro B (Red) Line back to the start.
