In this fascinating presentation, Kevin A. Myers will discuss his scholarly research that led him to China, and to the historically significant world of the blue and white porcelains associated with the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). He will share captivating images of the magnificent porcelain creations he encountered throughout the region.

Mr. Myers is head of the ceramics program at Orange Coast College. He brings 44 years of experience as a ceramic artist to his role, teaching the historic significance of ceramics as well as tactical and artistic execution. He has held positions at UCLA< USC, UCI, CSUN, and has lectured at Princeton, UC Berkley, Scripps College, and California College of Art, among others. Most recently, Kevin lectured in Jingdezhen, China, discussing the intersection of traditional and modern ceramic art.
