About this Event
Mayor Victor M. Gordo and Alice Mijares Recendez whose mother, Jesucita Mijares founded Mijares Restaurant in Pasadena in 1920, will be honored as the inaugural Cinco de Mayo Co-Grand Marshals. Both have a long heritage and history in Pasadena which makes them the perfect fit for this honor.
“I was involved in the Cinco de Mayo event 20 years ago and to bring it back to the Rose Bowl Stadium this year as part of the Stadium’s Centennial Celebration is really special,” said Mayor Victor M. Gordo. “We brought this event back with our Pasadena residents and families in mind, to find new ways to continue to celebrate and honor heritage, family and tradition.”
