"LAHSA coordinates and manages over $800 million annually in federal, state, county, and city funds for programs that provide shelter, housing, and services to people experiencing homelessness."
If there are 66,000 homeless in Los Angeles County then $800 million provides a resource of $12,121/yr ($1,000/month) per person. Except the verbiage is "for programs that provide to people experiencing homelessness.". In other words, not all 66,000 are recipients of the $800M in services, housing, and shelter.
The LAHSA (Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority) has over 125 non-profits and other organizations which they work with to provide services to those in transition or in need of a permanent place to live.
In addition to the FY 2023-24 budget of $609.7 million, the Board also approved $76.9 million to fund: FY 2023-24 Approved Budget – Homeless Initiative (lacounty.gov)
