Events to support CASA:
Saturday, March 15, 2025 Los Angeles Convention Center 9a - 4p
CASA of Los Angeles through Glamour Gowns and Suit Up (GGSU) offers free brand-new formal wear to hundreds of teenagers in the Los Angeles foster care system who might otherwise not have access. Our annual event allows young people to create cherished memories for events like proms and graduations.
With over 20,000 children in foster care in LA County, the need for this offering is great. For more than 20 years, CASA/LA & GGSU has supported thousands of young individuals, providing not just attire but also crucial emotional support, boosting self-esteem and confidence.
This event is funded solely with donations. We rely on in-kind contributions and financial support to make this event a huge success.
We hope you will join us as a donor, volunteer, or underwriter of this magical event that impacts the lives of so many deserving young people.
Join CASA of Los Angeles for an unforgettable evening as we renew our commitment to supporting children and families impacted by LA County’s overburdened child welfare and juvenile justice systems. In celebration of the 13th anniversary of our signature event, this year’s gala at the iconic Biltmore Hotel promises an inspiring night of celebration, community, and philanthropy. Don’t miss this chance to make a lasting impact!
These committed, highly-trained volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are appointed by a judge to an individual child’s case, to act and advocate for the child’s best interests in court and in all aspects of their life, making a positive difference and giving them an opportunity to thrive. Through an intentional and culturally responsive lens, we train committed, consistent and caring adults who can change the trajectory of a child’s life through strengths-based advocacy and life-affirming connections.
Through an intentional, restorative and culturally relevant lens, we train committed, consistent and caring adults who provide equitable access to resources and life-affirming connections.
“One person can be the tipping point that turns a life in a positive direction. Without that little nudge, that child’s life can take the opposite direction. If you can help change their trajectory where the youth feels like they might have a chance, maybe they have somebody in their corner, maybe they have someone who believes in them and believes them to be of value, that can change everything.” SAM, CASA VOLUNTEER
