WPC's Short Range Public Discussion
What was the origin for predictions of a large storm to hit Southern California this weekend?
Perhaps this post at 3pm Saturday was interpreted as applying to Southern California:
A frontal boundary off the West Coast will continue to move inland, bringing unsettled weather across must of Western U.S. this evening through Sunday
However, on Thursday, at 11am, the forecast included a discussion about the Fri-Sun forecast:
"LA county will likely be dry during the morning and afternoon hours. SLO county will see the bulk of the weather action, since they will be closest to the upper low. The main front will exit LA county sometime between dawn and mid-morning on Sunday. There will be some shower activity behind the front but additional rainfall amounts will not amount to much. It will feel more like a rainy January day with max temps only in the lower to mid 60s. National Weather Service
While on Monday, at 7:54pm, the forecast had even less prospect of a massive storm in Los Angeles
