Film Screenings Before the Outreach Event:
Saging the World is a short documentary highlighting the ecological and cultural issues regarding the overharvesting of sacred white sage.
Cara Romero: Following the Light is a half-hour documentary on contemporary fine art photographer and Chemehuevi citizen Cara Romero whose work captures Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultural memory, collective history, and lived experiences from a Native American female perspective.
About the CIHC Project and Outreach Initiative
The California Indian Heritage Center (CIHC) is being developed to represent all California Tribes and Indian people. As part of the design process, the project team is seeking opinions and ideas from Tribal communities and Native American people from across the state.
