Local stores celebrate National Quilting Day
The History of National Quilting Day
The Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society organized the first “Quilters’ Day Out”in 1989 and established future celebrations for the third Saturday of March. Two years later, the National Quilting Association officers voted to support the event and promote it nationally. The following year was the first NATIONAL Quilting Day and since then it is celebrated internationally.
