Quilting & Sewing: Local Resources

Image

The eastern San Fernando Valley has numerous small M2 zoned shops and home garages which contract for sewing; whether a prototype for the new or established designer, or to support a large contract, or a growing option to keep manufacturing domestically.

Additionally, studio designers scout across Southern California for fabric, trim, notions, and skilled artists and laborers for the latest project they are pitching or for an existing "show" contract with an ever- changing parameter.

Home seamstresses and quilters benefit from the abundance of selections to accommodate the above markets, not found in most American communities, despite the expansion of online shopping resources.

National stores selling fabric include:

Walmart, HobbyLobby (not in Los Angeles City), and JoAnn Fabrics.

Small independent stores catering to the home sewing market:

Canoga Fabrics - Canoga Park

Cotton & Chocolate Quilt Company - Thousand Oaks

Candy's Quiltworks - Northridge

Patches Fabrics - Chatsworth

Quilt Emporium - Woodland Hills

Independent stores catering to the upholstery market:

Elegant Design Interiors - Burbank

Serena & Lily - Westside

Local Quilting Club:

Home - San Fernando Valley Quilt Association (sfvqa.net)

Valley Quiltmakers Guild
