Grow It Yourself or Buy Grown Locally - Pt 2

Raised beds have an advantage for those with unfavorable soil or sunlight variables. They can be purchased new at Costco, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, and even Tuesday Morning or Home Goods. 

However, the local craft market provides competitively priced raised beds; including ones made of cedar, galvanized metal, repurposed furniture or pallets, as well as wrought metal frames.

These are readily available for local pick-up and some craftsmen offer custom options. Whether you discover them accidentallywhile traveling along Topanga on the corner of Plummer, or on San Fernando Road in Pacoima the craftsmanship is at a minimum competitive but more likely of a higher quality than anything mass-produced.
