Image

The Leonis Adobe Museum founded the Passport 2 History program in 2012. It connected  83 historic and cultural sites.

Visitors can begin their journey at the Leonis Adobe Museum or at other participating sites. The cost of the passport is $5.00. The passport features a page for every participating location. Passport holders are invited to then visit as many locations as possible to have their passport stamped. Visitors who collect half of their history stamps will return to the Leonis Adobe to receive a voucher redeemable at a local business. A special prize will be awarded to those who receive passport stamps at participating locations.

The Leonis Adobe Museum boasts a small selection of animals on property sans grass for roaming; but it serves as a discussion point for students unfamiliar with the livestock. Their website describes it as

"Our small herd of Texas Longhorns are beloved members of our ranch family and memorable ambassadors for the numerous San Fernando Valley ranchos of the 1880s. The unique history of Longhorns is one of remarkable adaptation and endurance."

The Leonis Adobe Museum and Gift Shop are open to the public Friday through Sunday. The Leonis Adobe Museum is closed to the general public: Monday - Thursday, and major holidays such as: New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Please refer to our Adobe Calendar for official closed days.
