A press release on 3/31/23 was identified as a follow up to the 3/27/23 release of the 2022 Annual Homicide Report. Specifics were cited in the update including itemization of the Homicide Clearance per Bureau, thereby clarifying media misreports the SFV had the lowest number of homicides solved (clearance).
"In 2022, Operations Central Bureau had a clearance rate of 65 percent, Operations South Bureau had a clearance rate of 83 percent, Operations West Bureau had a clearance rate of 98 percent, and Operations Valley Bureau had a clearance rate of 74 percent. The 2022 Citywide clearance rate is 77 percent."

The LAPD 77th division had the most homicides in 2022 (53), 2021 (63), and 2020 (57).
The Southeast Division had the second most homicides: 2022 (51), 2021 (54), & 2020 (45).
