Local Donation Sites for Blankets & Quilts

Four local organizations need & accept new & gently used quilts and blankets. The Quilt Emporium in Woodland Hills made us aware of the organizations.
  • My Stuff Bags Foundation
    • "Every year hundreds of thousands of children in the United States are rescued from abuse, neglect, domestic violence and homelessness. Tragically these children often enter into foster care or crisis shelters with little to nothing of their own.  During what is an unimaginably traumatic transition into foster care or crisis shelters, each My Stuff Bag is a tangible demonstration that reassures these children that they are valued as individuals, and that their personal belongings deserve the same care and dignity that they do"

  • Project Linus
    • A National Non-Profit Volunteer Organization that provides new, handmade washable blankets to critically ill and/or traumatized children.  They also accept knit caps for babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. 9,356,325+ blankets delivered since 1995

    • Size: ages 0-17yrs. Sew, quilt, knit or crochet a blanket 36" square up to twin size in any pattern, color or style (must be 100% cotton if sewing and acrylic yarn -no wool- if knitting or crocheting).

    • Sewing Warm Blankets for the children of Pine Ridge Reservation
    • Our partner group For the Children of Pine Ridge Reservation and Rosebud sends warm items to the 300+ children at the school at the beginning of the school year,
    • Sew For Kids Volunteers work with LFC on making sure kids have learning tools from day one and proper clothing to attend school. Kids at the beginning of this school year were given 2 new seasonal outfits, a pair of prized Pjs, and school supplies.
