USPSonlineStores is not USPS.Com

A social media advertisement suggests they are USPS selling "forever" stamps at a discount. The United States Postal Service does not further discount their postage stamps when you buy.

The price of a one ounce first class stamp today is sixty-three cents.  However, the faux website, suggesting it is an official USPS offering, is selling 100 stamp rolls for $27.50.   While it is possible someone has held onto their Forever Stamps the original price in 2007 was .39 not .275 each.   The "contact us" address is a private home in Brentwood, NY.  The United States Post Office website is USPS.com not any other variation with discounted sales.

The Forever stamps were first issued in April 2007, when first class mail cost .39 for the first ounce.  An additional change, in 2007, was the inclusion of variable pricing based on size, not just on weight.   Rates for Domestic Letters Since 1863 - Who we are - About.usps.com

There are three types of Forever Stamps:

  • First-Class Mail (domestic)
    • A special non-denominated stamp that was issued to save customers time and money, especially when First-Class Mail® prices change. The Forever Stamp always represents the current price of a one (1) ounce First-Class Mail postage. If you purchase a single Forever Stamp today, it will cost you the same price as a First-Class Mail® stamp.
    • In 2011, all first-class one ounce stamps became forever stamps with the exception of stamps in coils of 500, 3,000, and 10,000.
    • All commemorative stamps, which celebrate distinguished artists, athletes, historic milestones, natural wonders, and more, are issued as Forever Stamps.
    • First-Class Mail & Postage | USPS
  • First Class Mail® Additional Ounce Forever Stamps
The words "Additional Ounce" on this stamp indicates its usage value. Like a Forever® Stamp, these stamps will always be valid for the rate printed on it.
  • A Global Forever stamp’s value is linked to the First-Class Mail International single piece 1-ounce letter price that is in effect on the day of mailing regardless of when the stamp was purchased and regardless of how prices may change in the future.
    • Global Forever stamps can be used to mail a postcard or 1-ounce letter-size mailpiece anywhere in the world. In addition, mailers may use a Global Forever stamp as postage for any type of single-piece international or domestic mailpiece.
    • Note: The Global Forever stamp does not cover the nonmachinable letter surcharge.
    • Global Forever stamps are round and always bear the words “Global Forever”.
    • The Global Forever Stamp cover up to 2 ounce letters when used to send to Canada. All other countries require Additional Ounce postage to a max of 3.5 ounces.
    • Note: U.S. postage cannot be used in another country. You must use the proper postage based on the country where the item is being mailed from.
