A partnership between the Trader Joes & the CSUN Department of Art & Design enabled students to paint murals featuring CSUN landmarks from the Orange Grove to The Soraya.

The new Trader Joe's at 9224 Reseda Blvd., between Prairie and Dearborn streets, in Northridge features murals painted by CSUN art students.

CSUN landmarks such as the Orange Grove & The Soraya are depicted on the walls of the store.

A partnership between Trader Joes and  CSUN's Department of Art and Design enabled students to gain real-world experience working with representatives from Trader Joe's

These six students are the artists who worked on the murals. Taylor Caliz, Kayla Cruzada, Jenivit Marrero-Solis, Antonio Martinez, Mailahguiya Sourgose and Ligia Vilches.

The murals were created from the artist ideas and input from officials at Trader Joe’s.

The painted murals, on boards, were worked on by the artist both at home and on campus before they were installed on the store walls.
