Public Off-Leash Park Rules & Regulations

Children under the age of six are not allowed in public off-leash park areas. Nor are children under the age of 18 without an adult! These restrictions are within L.A. County per Title 17 code.

Title 17 - PARKS, BEACHES AND OTHER PUBLIC AREAS section 17.04.412  of the LA County Code details the rules and regulations for any County wide "Dog Off-Leash Area"

Dogs are PERMITTED

  • During the hours that it is open, as posted on the premises.
  • If accompanied by persons responsible for the dog who are 18 years old or older.
    • A person responsible for the dog is legally responsible and liable for any injury caused by the dog
  • If they display a valid and current County- or city-issued dog license
  • If they have current vaccinations and licensing.
  • If they are neutered or spayed.

Dogs are NOT PERMITTED

  • Outside of the hours it is open, as posted on the premises.
  • When it is closed as posted for maintenance.
  • Unaccompanied by persons, 18 years old or older, responsible for the dog 
    • A person responsible for the dog is legally responsible and liable for any injury caused by the dog
  • Under the age of four months  
  • If they DO NOT have current vaccinations and licensing.
  • With communicable diseases 
  • If they are sick or injured 
  • If they are not neutered or spayed.

MINORS

  • Children under the age of six years old are not permitted in the Dog Off-Leash Areas. 
  • Children 6 to 17 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (18 years of age or older) while in the Dog Off-Leash Areas.
