Between 9/20 & 9/27 there were five recorded earthquakes in Malibu with the largest magnitude of 3.1 on 9/21 at 2:15pm followed by one Friday the 27th at 8:28pm.
- 3.1 9/21/24 2:15pm 6 km ( 3 mi) NNE of Malibu

Interesting is the six “probable quarry explosions” which are initially reported as an earthquake and then the correction updated. The magnitude of these range from 1.7 to 1 and all are on the surface of our earth(-.58 to-.32miles from the earths surface) Hardly noticeable, unless you’re at the epicenter.
One fascinating aspect, relatable to the residents of the San Fernando Valley, is the pinpointing of an earthquake in Encino 9/26/24 recorded at 8:07am as 1.9 magnitude, 5.52 miles below the earth’s surface. Whoever is located at the house noted as the epicenter had to have felt something most of us didn’t!!!
Lastly, is the curiosity of 46 recorded earthquakes in Fontana for this seven day period! They range from 2.3 (9/25/24at 7:52am) to the very negligible .4 magnitude quake on 9/23/24 at 12:31am.
