Minecraft Version of Griffith Observatory.

This Is No April Fool's Day Prank...Griffith Observatory has just launched a surprise gift for everyone: A Minecraft version of Griffith Observatory. Yes, really!

Observatory staff developed this free downloadable map for Minecraft Java (on Windows, Mac, and Linux) to enable visitors to engage with a unique, virtual version of Griffith Observatory in first-person.

FEATURES:

  • Life-like art and architecture
  • Abridged educational exhibits
  • Scavenger hunt side-quest
  • Interactive elements
  • Surprises to reward the observer in everyone.

It is one of the few public buildings (and, we believe, the only ground-based observatory) to have official representation in the Minecraft universe. Go forth, observers!
