- Ventura County Sheriff’s Office
- Drug Enforcement Administration
- Los Robles Health System
- Goebel Adult Community Center
are united in hosting the “Crush the Crisis” DEA Drug Take Back Day.
On Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., these organizations will come together to host the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at two locations: the
Los Robles Hospital at 215 W. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, and
Goebel Adult Community Center, located at 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362.
Each take-back location will offer a convenient drive-through drop-off process, ensuring quick and easy participation. Ventura County Sheriff personnel will work side by side with volunteers from the Los Robles Health System and Goebel Community Center to assist with the collection of unneeded and expired prescription medications. The team will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid prescription drugs. However, syringes, sharps, illicit drugs, and liquid products such as cough syrup (unless sealed tightly in the original container) will not be accepted.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of local law enforcement agencies and community partners, the DEA Take Back Day has safely removed 9,285 tons of medication from circulation since its inception. The event provides a free and anonymous way for individuals to dispose of unneeded medications, making a positive impact on public health and safety.
