You’ve poured your heart into writing your book—but is it truly ready for readers? Whether you’re pursuing a traditional publisher or planning to self-publish, professional editing is the essential bridge between a draft and a publishable book. Without it, even strong stories can falter under the weight of errors, pacing issues, or inconsistencies.
In this webinar, Naomi Kim Eagleson, founder of Artful Editor, will demystify the four major phases of professional editing so you can identify exactly what your manuscript needs. We’ll begin with the often-overlooked Big-Picture Edit, exploring both Manuscript Critiques and Developmental Editing to strengthen your story’s foundation. From there, we’ll move to Line Editing to refine language and flow, Copyediting to ensure accuracy and consistency, and finally Proofreading, the critical last step after formatting.
You’ll walk away with a clear roadmap for preparing your book for publication—knowing when to invest in professional help and how to make the most of your budget. Whether your goal is to impress agents or publish independently, this session will empower you to confidently take your book from rough draft to ready-for-market.
