Dr. Joshi, a software engineer, had lived in Great Britain for six years, while his wife, a Dr Komi Vyas, a medical professional, remained in India with their children, including five-year-old twin daughters. They had recent received authorization to meet up with him and permanently move to London......but alas the path to that new life was thru the fatal Air India Flight #171 which crashed mid-air.
Flight #171 crashed five minutes after takeoff in the city of Ahmedabad of India on Thursday, into a doctors’ hostel. One passenger on the plane survived. No details have been released of injuries from people within the building or adjacent.

The black box from the rear of the plane has been recovered, no reports have revealed if the second black box from the front of the plane has been recovered. The US National Transportation Safety Board as well as UK team have been dispatched to help investigate the crash.
The sole survivor, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, was traveling with his brother Ajay, who did not survive. Vishwashkumar was born in India but lives in London with his wife and child.
The plane had departed from state of Gujarat, which is the origin of British Gujaratis, with 900,00 living in Britain, thus the largest group of British Indians.
