Memorial Day (not Sale) Events

The establishment of a day to recognize the loss of life for those enlisted in service began to become devalued, undermined, and diluted by popular use as 

• the start of summer activities
• the start of barbequing 
• the opportunity for consumer sales

While some national retailers have made an effort to distinguish their sale events, because it is a three day weekend, as not "Memorial Day Sale" but a sale during Memorial Day Weekend;  it is the main-stream media and social media promotion of Memorial Day events, honoring those who gave their life, which keeps the original intent of the Day intact.

These are the events in and adjacent to the San Fernando Valley honoring on Memorial Day those  who lost their life while in military service.
