There is a "coming soon" tag adjacent to St. John's page on the Westfield Topanga Village website. The Westfield description cites verbiage from the St. John website:
"St. John is an American luxury house founded in 1962 on the premise of a simple, elegant and versatile knit dress. The brand has evolved over the years, but the foundation of the collection remains the same today as it did from the very start – great American design, understated and timeless elegance, unsurpassed quality and craftsmanship."
The classic knit style, which is still in demand by a third generation of fashion distinctive women, was developed by Marie St. John- Gray in 1962. What distinguishes a St. John knit garment is "knit-in-hem" (contrast other similar garment makers with sewn-in hem). Also the garment is a tightly double-knit of woven wool and rayon
St. John's headquarters is in Irvine, California. Vestar/Gray Investors, a partnership between the founding Gray family and Vestar Capital Partners, owns a majority of the company. The Fosun Fashion Group invested in St. John in 2021. Back in 1990, when consumers saw a distinct change in the designs of St. John it was bought by Escada, a German fashion house.
