The"Rook" was introduced at the October 2017 "International Police Chief Association conference". The Rook is designed to "Gain access to cramped indoor/outdoor areas previously off-limits to armored equipment, transport, or surveillance including areas that small robotic video cameras can’t access." Â
It is also called an   Offering "Mission-specific response" in situations of a barricaded suspect, riot scene, even a non-criminal incident such as a natural disaster.Â
