The Rook - Used in Houston Today - Does LAPD Have It?

The "Rook" is a weaponized (armored) Caterpillar vehicle, for SWAT teams & other specialized police interests to gain access during "critical incidents". Such as today in Houston.

The"Rook" was introduced at the October 2017 "International Police Chief Association conference". The Rook is designed to "Gain access to cramped indoor/outdoor areas previously off-limits to armored equipment, transport, or surveillance including areas that small robotic video cameras can’t access."  

It is also called an     Offering "Mission-specific response" in situations of a barricaded suspect, riot scene, even a non-criminal incident such as a natural disaster.
