The $250,000 reward is funded by three sources: $100,000 Los Angeles County, $100,000 City of Palmdale, $50,000 Association for Los Angles Deputy Sheriffs

According to the National Fraternal Order of Police there have been 83 ambush-style attacks on police in the U.S. in 2023 of which 15 were killed by gunfire.
