L.A. City Council Meetings Cancelled/Recess Thru January 5th

The Los Angeles City Council meets regularly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 am.  The 2023 Council Recess Schedule (Council file No. 23-0001) identifies special days and events during which the City Council will not meet. It is Section 242 of the L.A. City Charter (the new City Charter was affirmed effective July 2000) which enables the City Council to establish their own recess schedule .   "Sec. 242. (a) The Council shall hold regular meetings at least three days each week. Meetings may be held in City Hall or elsewhere in the City. By resolution, the Council may establish periods during which the Council or its committees will be in recess. The Council and its committees may also each hold special meetings with proper notice.
