Ten Americans Released From Venezuela

An exchange of one Venezuelan awaiting trial, for ten Americans; including local D.A. Eyvin Hernandez, was realized today

The Biden Administration announced narrower parameters, in October 2022, for Venezuelans, crossing the American border illegally to be given a legal path to stay in the country. However, a year later new rules were again established by the Biden Administration, giving approximately 472,000 Venezuelans, already here, access to Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for a period of 18 months, if they had arrived before July 31st. Deportation would be used for those who crossed the border illegally after that date and fail to qualify for asylum.

Americans awaiting trial or already convicted in Venezuela prisons who were released today, mirrored a request in February 2023 by Eyvin Hernandez, to swap him & seven other US detainees for Alex Saab. Ten Americans were released today.
