The Short-Term Rental Ordinance/Title 22 amends Title 22, or the Zoning Code, to allow Short-Term Rentals (STRs) as an accessory use to existing dwelling units in zones that permit residential uses.
The Ordinance requires STRs to be registered pursuant to existing regulations in Division 3 (STR) of Title 7 (Business Licenses) of the LA County Code.
Title 7 limits STRs to registered primary residences, requires annual registration, limits the number of days to 90 in a calendar year in the primary residence rented without a host present overnight, and limits the number of guests allowed.
The Regional Planning Commission public hearing for the Ordinance is scheduled for April 24, 2024, followed by a public hearing before the Board of Supervisors.
