A First: SFV Olympic Athlete Ellis Kendall Signs with Charmin!

The Olympic side stories also captivate our attention. SFV track & field athlete Kendall Ellis was stuck in a porta-potty for 10 minutes before her event at U.S. track trials. And now she has a Charmin contract!

Kendall Ellis is from Florida but is claiming North Hollywood as her home now.  The attention on her porta-potty lockup garnered headlines, probably because it's a situation we can relate to, have not thought of happening.........until now, and the fact it might have stopped her path to qualify given she was scheduled to run within the hour.

And while her 400M run did not go well, and she was not listed in the 400M relay trial Friday 8/9, as one of the team who ran and qualified to run for a medal Saturday.  It is good press, a welcome turn of events to see she garnered a contract with CHARMIN (the ubiquitous advertiser of toilet paper for you to "enjoy the go").  The take-away in the ad is "backside to trackside".

The 2024 Olympics is not your 1984 Olympics when the first female athlete was put on the cover of Wheaties - Every Olympic athlete that's been on the Wheaties box (qz.com)

It was 1935 that female basketball Olympian Babe Didrikson Zaharias was the first female on the box albeit she was placed on the back of the box.  73 Olympians or Olympic teams have won a spot on the Wheaties box in the past 100 years!

So, while it looks like only a neighbor of the SFV will bring home a medal at least Kendall Ellis and all of "the valley" can applaud her relatable & profitable outcome on the road to the Olympics! Tara Davis-Woodhall of Agoura Wins Gold | San Fernando Valley News Portal
