Highlights of the 2024 Reagan National Defense Forum

The 11th annual Reagan National Defense Forum is concluded, it was attended by manufacturers and sponsors, politicians. legislators and aides, educators, military leaders and their staff..   The 10 panels as well as fireside chats and the keynote address are available to view at the RNDF youtube account.  Forums from previous years are also visible at the youtube site.

Axis of Authoritarianism: What if we won already? Dr. H.R. McMaster, Former U.S. National Security Advisor  5:30pm he says "Asad is collapsing....the Russians are running away...Iran has extraordinary economic difficulties and is so weak, thanks to Israel, and what they have done to Hezbollah..."

Most speakers remained diplomatically neutral when goaded by the media-moderators with comments designed to trigger a response about the incoming President, Donald Trump.

The bipartisan event was focused on military strength, world events unfolding even as the forum was in progress, as well as streamlining the process of acquisition.  An interesting comment was made by Gen. Randy A. George, Chief of Staff, U.S. Army, during the 9th Panel, in a discussion about acquiring replacement parts more rapidly.  "We are printing parts in the field with 3d printers!! What would cost $20 is costing less than a dollar"

Sen. Angus King, U.S. Senate, Maine  "We're in hot war right with China, Russia, and Iran. It's in Cyber. The attack on the telecommunications of "salt typhoon"; most serious attack on a telecommunications system in this country in our history. You know what, we have no deterrents, nobody's afraid of us in cyber. Our whole defense strategy is based upon the concepts of deterrents. If you attack us, we're gonna make you pay. Except in cyber, we're still waiting for a response to the Sony hack. We have no response. There has to be, and this is something the President can do that wouldn't cost a dime.
