US 12,178,910 B2 patent was issued to Carbon Technology Holdings, LLC, Oakdale, MN.  The connection to Southern California is three of the inventors: Han Suk Kim,  Thousand Oaks, CA (US), Juliette MacKay, Newbury Park, CA (US)Richard Wilson Belcher, Oxnard, CA (US)
This patent is a culmination of designs since 2015 that have been filed related to Appl. No. 17/835,900 and others.

It is described as:

10. A method for reducing an overall environmental impact of farming or ranching, the method comprising: obtaining treated biochar, wherein the treated biochar is produced from a treatment process on biochar to detoxify the biochar and infuse an additive into pores of the biochar; and combining the treated biochar with animal bedding for farm animals, thereby (i) causing the farm animals to ingest the treated biochar, thereby producing ingested treated biochar, and thereby reducing methane from enteric fermentation and (ii) reducing a toxicity to the farm animals.
19. A method for using treated biochar to reduce an overall environmental impact of farming or ranching, the method comprising: obtaining treated biochar, wherein the treated biochar is produced from a treatment process, wherein the treatment process infuses a liquid additive into pores of biochar and removes dioxins from the pores of the biochar, andcombining the treated biochar with compost, animal bedding, or manure piles, thereby reducing odor and increasing nutrient retention.

Whereas, Carbon Technology is described as "Technology that Converts Biomass into Hydrocarbon Fuels, Chemicals and Biocarbon, a Water and Fertilizer-Saving Soil Amendment"

Elsewhere, in 2021 they trademarked  "AYMIUM"  in the category: Treatment & Processing of Materials Services, Chemical Products, and Lubricant & Fuel Products. Described as:

Carbon processing and production services, namely, processing, treatment and refining renewable biomass for conversion into biocoal, activated carbons, biochar, and metallurgical carbons for others

Biocoal, namely, biocoal containing carbonized wood, biocoal containing torrefied wood, biocoal containing biomass, all for use in energy production; fuel in the form of carbonized wood; fuel in the form of torrefied wood; biomass fuel

Activated carbons for water, liquid and gas purification; metallurgical carbons for use as a reagent or additive in iron, steel and metal alloys production; soil amendments in the form of biochar; manure for use in energy production
