CSUN Journalism Department is now accepting applications to teach part-time next school year

The application period for the 2025-2026 Journalism Department part-time faculty pool is now open – deadline Thursday, March 13. Click here for official announcement and more information on how to apply.

Note: All part-time faculty appointments are temporary and do not confer academic rank. Final
determination of part-time teaching assignments is contingent upon student enrollment figures and funding. Some courses are taught in-person, while others are taught in a hybrid formant (half in-person, half online), and others are fully online. Prior online teaching experience is desired for classes that are hybrid or fully online. In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours and participation in assessment of student learning. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are employed.

Salary Range: Expected hiring range is $2,202.80 to $2,648.40 per weighted teaching unit based
on degrees and qualifications. For a typical three-unit lecture/discussion class, this would result
in an expected hiring range of $5,507 to $6,221. Lab and studio classes usually carry more
weighed teaching units and more contact hours.
